1214 County Roads Quilt Block Tutorial | Block of the Day 2023

This quit block reminds me of the day I drove to a friend's house through miles and miles of Texas county roads with nothing but pastures and farm fields as far as the eye could see. Hear the story in the video.

Fabric and Cutting the County Roads Quilt Block

Here are the cutting diagrams. AccuQuilt dies are listed under each diagram.


Use 21/2” strip cutter to cut strips. Sub cut 12-1/2 rectangle.

Use 21/2” strip cutter to cut strips. Sub cut 10-1/2 rectangle.

55059, 55709 or 55018 or 8” Qube Shape 2

Use 21/2” strip cutter to cut strips. Sub cut 6-1/2 rectangle.


55000 or 12” Qube Shape 1


Use 21/2” strip cutter to cut strips. Sub cut 8-1/2 rectangle

A – 1 @ 2-1/2” x 12-1/2” rectangle.

B - 1 @ 2-1/2” x 10-1/2” rectangle.

D - 1 @ 2-1/2” x 6-1/2” rectangle.

F - 1 @ 2-1/2” x 8-1/2” rectangle.

Strip Piecing Note:

If you are using strips for this fabric, you will need 1 strip @ 2-1/2” x WOF for each block.


C – 9 @ 2-1/2” squares.


E – 1 @ 6-1/2” squares.
