1125 Falling Squares Quilt Block Tutorial | Block of the Day 2023

This block is a great way to use your strips or partial strips of low volume prints and leftover charm squares. You can also coordinate fabrics or go totally scrappy!

Piecing Falling Squares Quilt Block

Here are the patches used in this block. The AccuQuilt die numbers are listed below each patch.

Use 2-1/2” strip cutter. Sub cut 6-1/2” segments.

55159, 55715 or 8” Qube Shape 8

55060, 55708, 55018 or 8” Qube Shape 1

Fabric and Cutting

A – 4 @ 2-1/2” x -1/2” rectangles

B – 4 @ 2-1/2” x 4-1/2” rectangles.

4 assorted fabrics

C – 4 @ 4-1/2” squares.

1. Sew the B patches to the C patches as shown. Make 4 assorted units.

2. Sew the A patches to each unit from step 1. Make 2 of each unit shown.

3. Refer to diagram to assemble block.
