Fabric and Cutting the Rail Fence Ripple Quilt Block

No Cutting Diagrams

This block is strip pieced. For 1 block you need:

 2 light strips @ 1-1/4” x 18”

2 dark strips @ 1-1/4” x 18”

From 1 light and 1 dark fat quarter you can get up to 8 blocks.

AccuQuilt

Use 55109 – 1-1/4” strip cutter to cut strips and the 2” strip cutter to cut the rail fence segments.

Piecing the Rail Fence Ripple Quilt Block

To make 1 block:

1.      Using the 2 light and 2 dark strips, make 2 strip sets. Sew 1 light and 1 dark strip together along the long side. Press seams.

2.      Sub cut each strip set into 8 @ 2” segments for a total of 16 rail fence units.     

   

3.      Using 4 rail fence units, make the corner unit.

Make 4 corner units
